Post Description

Arturia has released a new virtual synthesizer that emulates the classic Ensoniq SQ-80 D / A instrument.
The synthesizer interface mimics the look of the original Ensoniq SQ-80 from the 1980s. In 1989 Ensoniq closed production of the instrument despite its popularity. Some of the most active users of the synthesizer were director John Carpenter and Assyrian producer Aryl Brakha.
The SQ80 V is a revived classic Ensoniq cross-wave synthesizer from the 80s, combining a hybrid lo-fi character, complex textures, and thousands of unique waveform combinations into a fast-response software synthesizer enhanced for modern production.
Feel the toughness, character, and enchanting imperfections favored by John Carpenter, Adamski, Mr. Bungle and countless others, with a tool that's both sophisticated and accessible, focused and intricate, sharp and dream-like - and different. what you've heard before.
The perfectly modeled 8-bit 5503 DOC chip in the digital Edge SQ80 V delivers digital sounds that are full of unique organic character, from silky smooth to incredibly punchy, ready to tune and play in seconds.
The digital oscillators interact with an emulated analog filter and output circuitry to produce growling sine waves, hissing harmonics, and warm low-frequency tones that are "completely imperfect."
Explore thousands of possible combinations of waves, instrumental-style transients, hidden waveforms and VFX trance waves to create sound design potential that surpasses the original equipment.
Digital synthesizers have long been known for the complexity of programming. The SQ80 V flies in the face of the trend with an immersive digital architecture that can be set up instantly and seamlessly.
Designed by the same engineers who created the Commodore 64, widely regarded as the best-selling computer of all time, the Ensoniq SQ80 stands up to any tough competition.
Digital synthesis has been solved!
