God Is an Astronaut is een Ierse postrockband uit County Wicklow , opgericht in 2002 door Niels en Torsten Kinsella. Hun stijl maakt gebruik van elementen van elektronische muziek , krautrock en space rock , die doen denken aan Tangerine Dream .  De band bestaat momenteel uit Niels en Torsten Kinsella en Lloyd Hanney. Ze hebben tot nu toe 9 studioalbums uitgebracht.
