Seizoen 1:
Veel kijkers waren geschokt na de eerste aflevering van The Sinner, de nieuwe detectiveserie op Netflix waarin een jonge moeder, Cora Tannetti, iemand neersteekt op het strand. Later bleek dat ze geen idee heeft waarom ze het gedaan heeft. Detective Dan Leroy komt dan in beeld en zet alles op alles om erachter te komen waarom Cora zo’n afschuwelijke moord heeft gepleegd.

Seizoen 2:
At the end of the first series, Cora (Jessica Biel) was sentenced to two years in a psychiatric facility, avoiding a 30-year jail sentence.
Season two will follow Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) who investigates a murder case involving two parents who may have been murdered by their son.
Replacing Jessica’s character Cora is Carrie Coon, who will play Vera. Her character bio reads: “Vera is a formidable, mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires.”
