Post Description
Singer-songwriter, Scottish, folk, pop.
We often speak of what detriments Spotify poses to artists, but sometimes, artists do have benefits from that streaming service. Let’s take here the example of Scottish singer-songwriter Rosie H Sullivan. Back in 2021, her demo got 600,000 streams on the service, and from there on, she landed a recording contract with her now label.
The reasons for those streams can quite easily be found on Sullivan’s most recent 5-song EP In My Nature. For some, it just might be ‘standard singer-songwriter fare’ but, essentially, Sullivan has both the songwriting and vocal capability to take that ‘fare’ a few notches up in quality, here combined with some quite tasteful arrangements that put her songs and voice in context. And, as is often the case, you can’t fool that many listeners with just average music, as Sullivan confirms that she is a singer songwriter on the rise.
