Post Description

Roadhouse Garden is an unreleased album announced on Prince's website Love4OneAnother.com
on 7 October 1998 (following an announcement on 30 September 1998 that "Prince and the Revolution r releasing
a new album on NPG"), with a presumptive release date of 1999.

It was announced to be by Prince and the Revolution, although the announcement stated that "the group needn't
b 2gether 2 release an album" and that Prince "can and will finish the album alone unless the
tide turns otherwise." Prince claimed to have offered Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman
co-production work on the project, but they later denied this.

The album was said to include "things left unfinished" when the band dissolved in 1986, and "several new cuts
that Prince is putting together using parts from many tunes". The exact tracklist (if any was
completed) is unknown, but the tracks mentioned in association with the album are listed below.

During a Love4oneanother.com "? of the week" in 1999, a fan (using the name Arc1Love) asked whether there were
plans to "continue the release" of the album as nothing had been announced for several months, to which Prince
replied, :"That's a ? better posed 2 Wendy and Lisa at this stage". In an xclusive innerview with Love 4 One
Another on Love4oneanother.com in 1999, Prince announced that the album will include "Witness 4
The Prosecution and SPLASH which was one of my favorites". He also said that all the songs that Wendy and Lisa
sang on were left off of the Crystal Ball package 2 save 4 a Revolution album. Empty Room was also cited as one
of the songs slated for Roadhouse Garden during a Love4oneanother.com "? of the week".

Splash was later released in 2001 as a download from the NPG Music Club (the first and only Prince and the
Revolution track to be offered through the club). Empty Room was released as a 2002 live version as a download
on the NPG Music Club (and later included on the compilation C-Note. In A Large Room With No Light was available
as an audio stream on the Montreux Jazz Festival website in 2009 in conjunction with Prince's two shows at the
festival. The other tracks believed to have been included on the album remained unreleased in any form until
2017 when Roadhouse Garden (segued from Our Destiny) and Wonderful Ass were released on the From The Vault &
Previously Unreleased disc of a Deluxe release of Purple Rain.

Artwork was later posted online by a graphic designer for an NPG Music Club album titled In All My Dreams,
which may have been a later version of the Roadhouse Garden album, but nothing else is known about this album,
which also remains unreleased.
