Megadeth Albums
Collection 1985-2019

Megadeth is een Amerikaanse heavy metal band uit Los 
Angeles, Californië, gesticht in 1983. De band is opgericht 
nadat Dave Mustaine zijn vorige band Metallica moest ver-
laten, de band heeft sindsdien twaalf studioalbums, zes 
live albums, twee ep's, zesentwintig singles, tweeëndertig 
muziekvideos en drie compilaties. Megadeth verkreeg inter-
nationale erkenning als een pionier van het thrashmetal 
genre, maar moest een groot aantal veranderingen in de 
bezetting doorstaan, deels door het beruchte druggebruik  
van de band. Van 1983 tot 2002 waren Mustaine en bassist 
David Ellefson  de enige vaste leden van de band. Na te zijn 
afgekickt en te zorgen  voor een stabiele bezetting ging 
Megadeth door en bracht een aantal  platinum en gouden 
albums uit, waaronder het platinum verkopende album 
Rust in Peace in 1990 en het Grammy genomineerde, multi-
platinum album Countdown to Extinction  in 1992. Mega-
deth ging uit elkaar in 2002 door een zenuwblessure in de 
linkerarm van Mustaine. Maar door het volgen van extensieve 
fysiotherapie wist Mustaine zijn blessure te overwinnen en 
richtte hij de band opnieuw op in 2004.
