Lee Kernaghan Announces Highly Anticipated Epic New Album, Backroad Nation! Lee Kernaghan has announced his highly anticipated new album, Backroad Nation, will be released through ABC Music, with the lead track, Wheels. The epic new album was produced by Grammy nominated producer and songwriter, Lindsay Rimes (Kane Brown, Kylie Minogue. LoCash). As Lee describes this release, "Backroad Nation is a celebration of us, our way of life and the people who make our country great. Much of the inspiration for the songs has come from the people I've met and the places I've travelled to from Alice Springs to the Deni Ute Muster, from the mighty Pilbara region in WA to backroads QLD and everywhere in between." Lee Kernaghan has sold over 2 million albums in Australia and had 35 number 1 hits on the Aus Country Charts, won 36 Golden Guitar Awards, 4 ARIA awards and was a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement ARIA Award in 2015. In 2004 Lee received the Order of Australia Medal and in 2008 he was named Australian of the Year. In 2017, Lee celebrated the Silver Anniversary of his ARIA award winning debut album, Outback Club (1992), marking 25 years in the record industry.
