David William Kearney (8 september 1934 – 20 april 2022), beter bekend als Guitar Shorty , was een Amerikaanse bluesgitarist , zanger en songwriter. Hij stond bekend om zijn explosieve gitaarstijl en wilde capriolen op het podium. Gecrediteerd met het beïnvloeden van zowel Jimi Hendrix als Buddy Guy , nam Guitar Shorty op en toerde van de jaren 1950 tot de jaren 2020. In 2017 zei het tijdschrift Billboard : "Zijn opzwepende gitaarwerk definieert moderne, eersteklas bluesrock. Zijn zang blijft even krachtig als altijd. Rechtvaardige shuffles ... zinderende, bochtige gitaarsolo's ."
