Notes: The second disc of a 2 cd release that comprise a complete concert rehearsal , most likely taped by MGM for the documentary "That's The Way It Is", and subsequently snuck out of the MGM vaults. This is a fantastic serie , as Elvis was in his personal prime in 1970 and the material reflects his drive and enthusiasm.
Elvis obviously liked "I Just Can't Help Believin'" , judging by the number of attempts at the song. This is a stunning rendition on this disc !
"Running Scared" is a rarity - never officially recorded for release. Unfortunately he only sings 1 verse !
"Heart Of Rome" has not yet shown up on any concert audiotapes and appears to have never been sung onstage. Here is is performed at too high a key for Elvis' vocal range and his voice is strained trying to hit the high notes.
"Memories" wasn't performed onstage after 1969 and was scarcely performed even then !
"Johnny B. Goode" is a scorching version - possibly the finest version ever caught on tape. James makes unusual use of his wah-wah pedal for this version
"You've Lost That Lovin Feelin" features some offcolor language.
Elvis mimics the Righteous Brothers for "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin".
The 24 July session was much more laid back and "fun" than the contents of the first volume of this set.
"Stranger In My Own Home Town" was released by BMG , but they cut out over 40 seconds of the uncut version featured here , which also has some X-rated language.
