Synopsis:

During a turbulent time when political upheaval, rebellion, and invasion 
are coming to a head two swordsmen are caught up in a violent and bloody 
struggle to seize control of the country they love. With their army of 
alliance standing behind them they will meet for the most important 
battle of their lives. Swords will be drawn while many lives are lost, 
but only one swordsman will walk away the new king of the land. 

Inhoud:

Korea, 16e eeuw: het hele land staat vlak voor een ineenstorting.Terwijl 
het corrupte kabinet van de keizer machtsspelletjes bedrijft, staat een 
aanval vanuit Japan voor de deur. De doortrapte zwaardvechter Lee Mong-
hak gaat met gelijkgezinden een alliantie aan om het corrupte regime te 
vernietigen en om zelf aan de macht te komen. Zijn voormalige 
strijdmakker, de blinde zwaardvechter Hwang Jung-hak (Hwang Jung-min), 
staat hem daarbij in de weg. Maar hij wordt gesteund door de jonge Kyun-
ja, die met Mong-hak nog een rekening te vereffenen heeft. In het paleis 
van de keizer, omsingeld door Japanse troepen, komt het tot een furieuze 
confrontatie.
