We've all developed our imagination by reading fables, fairy tales and stories of our childhood, which have shaped humans’ fears and beliefs for centuries. Through the ages we have been frightened by the screech of the owl, the mysterious nightlife of bats, the hidden universe of snakes and have feared the evil powers of toads and witches.
One could argue that these beliefs are outdated because they are linked to Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Yet, quite the opposite is true! Centuries of legends and superstitions have written these fears into our genes. Animals become the victims of our fears, as they are being dug up, hunted or called pests.
Why not challenge those beliefs? Why not change the way we see these species we so unfairly gave a bad name to? Let's leave legend behind to take a look at reality.
