Post Description

Windows tweakers and optimizers have enjoyed a rise in popularity over the last few years or so. Whether that's owed to the curiosity of increasingly more users, or Microsoft’s practices as of late, it’s most likely a combination of the two. It’s fun to be able to configure your machine just how you want, but there’s an inherent risk that comes with modifying certain aspects. So long as you take the time to study what you’re working with, you should be fine. Win 10 Tweaker gives you a great many options to configure your Windows 10 or 11 OS to more closely address your needs.

Though the name may lead you to believe it’s a Windows 10-only tool, that’s not the case. This is for the better, as users will be able to optimize their Win 11 machine without issues, and what better way to start than checking a few boxes in the Confidentiality menu.

You can disable various telemetry systems, and the tool does well to explain what each entry does, which extends to all of the available options throughout the interface. Context Menu will let you change how you interact with the context menu in different circumstances, letting you add or remove certain entries as you see fit.

Some slight cosmetic changes can be made via the Interface menu, where you can, for example, remove arrows from shortcuts, reduce the size of certain buttons, and so on.

Furthering the optimization aspect, the System and Services menus include a series of miscellaneous configurations to personalize the OS’ behavior, as well as eliminate some components. Thus you can disable Cortana, remove OneDrive, increase file system cache, and so forth. Services takes this further by letting you toggle services as you see fit.

A cleaner is likewise included, and it can rid you of redundant data that can save you some storage space: clearing cache, system reports, and such. If you want to take this even further, you can remove certain built-in apps via Applications.

Win 10 Tweaker is a very interesting tool. It includes a wide array of options that put you more in control of your system. Though it offers explanations for each provided configuration, I would nevertheless recommend looking everything up before committing to a change, as well as creating a system restore point, just to err on the side of caution.
