Description:
The Electric Light Orchestra (abbreviated as ELO) is a British rock band from Birmingham formed by Jeff Lynn and Roy Wood in 1970. The band was especially popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
ELO released 11 studio albums between 1971 and 1986 and one album in 2001. ELO (a joint idea by Roy Wood and Jeff Lynn) was formed to satisfy the burning desire to write "classical" pop music. The group experimented in a variety of musical directions, from progressive rock to pop. From the very beginning of the band's activities, Jeff Lynn solved all organizational issues, wrote all the original compositions of the group and produced every album.
The band's first success was in the United States, where they were introduced as "The English Boys with Big Violins". By the mid-1970s, they were among the top-selling music groups. From 1972 to 1986, ELO combined work in the UK and the States. The group lasted until 1986, after which Jeff Lynn disbanded it.
For the 40th anniversary of the Electric Light Orchestra group, this release has been released. It includes three concerts of the group.
The first concert was filmed in 1973 at Brunel University, UK.
Second in 1974 in Germany, TV's Rockpalast.
Third Face Music Tour at New Victoria Theater, London, 1976.
