Bernstein Royal Ed - Tchaikovsky Sym No 3 & Romeo & Juliet

This has one of the finest R&J's. Passionate but controlled. Usually near or at the top of "Best Of" lists. Of course that's just 19 minutes of a 67 minute disc. So what of the 3rd? It is on the same level. Great Tchaikovsky tunes and a Slavic leaning sometimes. I used to have the Dorati- another great one. For comparison I the Markevitch with the LSO on a two CD set with Francesca Rimini. I recommend that for an inexpensive way to get all three and his version of the 1st "Winter Dreams" is hard to beat. Very good notes in the booklet. If this is what you are looking for no reservations.
