Songsmith Anna-Lynne Williams is the Queen of Covers. She has a way of inhabiting songs, getting inside their structure and conforming herself to their emotional center while also transforming them with her crystal-pure vocal delivery. 

Her new release is 13 songs, but with 11 originals and only two covers (Nada Surf and Billie Eilish, because why not). As Lotte Kestner she has proven durable and dependable in always delivering heartfelt songs structured perfectly to deliver a payload of feels. And she gives you all the feels here. 

Two songs are co-written with Damien Jurado, "Weaving" and "After Me", and they really shine. This is a quiet and humble record, but will be a delight for purists.

Lost Songs is energy reborn, the time out from capturing the essence of the distant shore and the new home in which to place the soul has been worthwhile, and it is a piece of music and art that heralds a new beginning for one of America’s modern greats.
