Post Description

Weer eens een ander instrument in de folk; een hammered dulcimer. Fraaie uitvoeringen, vooral Black is the Colour is bijzonder. Aanradertje.

Power quartet! Live from the studio! This album is a true snapshot of Misti Bernard on voice and guitar, Victoria Van Arnam on hammered dulcimer, Asia Lupo on cajon and Robyn Buttery on fiddle.

The Lady Victoria (aka Victoria Van Arnam) is a Celtic musician and Renaissance Festival performer from North Central Florida. She performs on the hammered dulcimer, an ancient folk instrument. Victoria cultivated a love of the arts at a young age, which was instilled by her grandmother. A cassette by musician Kate Price was the catalyst that inspired her to become a hammered dulcimer performer. In 2013, The Lady Victoria began playing at Renaissance festivals and other venues. Her lively, entertaining performances were a hit and she went full time on the Renaissance Festival circuit in 2017.

Victoria Van Arnam’s musical career includes seven released albums. “Dulcet Dreams,” her 2017 album was a labor of love performed with Victoria’s closest friends, and her 2020 solo album “Tranquil Tones,” captures the essence of hammered dulcimer sound. Previous projects include two albums each with “Jig to a Milestone,” a Scottish/Irish folk band, and “Dancing Hammers,” a hammered dulcimer duo.

The Lady Victoria continues to work on new projects to keep the hammered dulcimer and folk music alive. The Lady Victoria also shares her passion for the folk music community through regular TikTok videos, weekly livestreams, and her Ren Talks podcast. She can be found touring Renaissance Festivals, as well as performing internationally.
